Hugh Maynard

Accomplished West End and International male vocalist - based in the UK

Hugh Maynard left his hometown of Torbay in South Devon to pursue a career in acting, singing, and dance in London. After training at The Academy of Live and Recorded Arts and Arts Educational Schools, he quickly secured the principal role of Simon Zealotes in Jesus Christ Superstar. His West End career has since included acclaimed productions such as The Lion King, Notre Dame de Paris, Follies, and Sister Act.

In 2004, Hugh took on the role of John in Miss Saigon, becoming the youngest performer in the production’s history to play the role. He later returned to the celebrated 2014 West End revival, appearing on the cast recording and the filmed 25th anniversary production.

Alongside theatre, Hugh toured internationally with Tenors of Rock, performing across the UK, Europe, and America, including appearances connected to the 2012 Summer Olympics.

Alongside his theatre work, Hugh has continued performing in productions including Sweeney Todd, Songs for a New World, and The Color Purple, as well as playing Judas in Jesus Christ Superstar in 2022.

He also performs his own solo concerts nationwide, has expanded into television presenting, and released the deluxe edition of his debut soul album, Something Inside So Strong, in 2025.
