Originally from Stoke-On-Trent, Joel made his West End debut in the original cast of ‘Beautiful - The Carol King Story’’, from that he went on to appear in the Olivier Award winning ‘Jesus Christ Superstar’ at Regents Park Open Air Theatre. Played Che in Andrew Lloyd Webbers ‘Evita’, played the lead role of Charlie Price in ‘Kinky Boots’ as well as performing in The National Theatre’s ‘The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time’, ‘Pieces Of String’, ‘RENT’ and ‘I Am Harvey Milk’, directed by 4 time Tony Award winning Marianne Elliot.
Performing to global critical acclaim, Joel replaced Taron Egerton and starred alongside Bridgeton’s JonathanBailey and has since been nominated for numerous awards for his outstanding performance. Since then he has played Freddie Tapner in ‘Chess’ at Theatre Royal Drury Lane, played Harry in The National Theatres ‘Standing At The Skys Edge’ and made his screen debut in an Amazon Primes ‘The Devils Hour’ and in BBC Three’s ‘Daddy Issues’ alongside Aimee Lou Wood and David Morrissey.
